I was very inspired by the local landscapes I love walking cycling and swimming in this special place that I am lucky to call home

These paintings are all one-of-a-kind original encaustic paintings. Encaustic painting is a mixed media technique. Using molten beeswax with natural pigments. The liquid/paste is then applied to a wooden board The term is derived from Greek, meaning burning in. The physical process of encaustic painting is like an alchemist's metamorphoses and the images emerge from the magical process using fire to paint with. Kathleen is inspired by the beautiful landscapes and colors of West Kerry she that is part of her everyday life.
